ONDAS is committed to community, and community is built through communication. In addition to monthly community classes, Ondas is also home to a Book Club, and offers a conversational Portuguese class. Scroll down to see details about each offering.
CONVERSATIONAL PORTUGUESE – This class is open to anyone (ages 10+) interested in Brazilian Portuguese. Taught by Dr. Puente, the class takes a converstational approach to language through situations and songs to build comprehension, vocabulary, and an understanding of basic grammar structures. Regular attendance is suggested, but drop-ins are welcome. Saturdays, 10:00am CT. Class is $12. Class has an option for virtual participation; contact us for details.

BOOK CLUB – While the bookclub focuses on works by Women of Color, each new selection is voted on by the group. The goal for 2021 is 8 books, meeting every 6-7 weeks throughout the year in a friendly and inclusive setting which welcomes all voices and perspectives.
At our next Book Club meeting we will discuss Sofía Segovia’s _The Murmur of Bees_. Join us Saturday, February 13th at 4:30pm, in-person or via Zoom.

COMMUNITY CLASSES – Make a day of it at Ondas Community! This monthly community class is taking a new format: classes are now outdoors, and feature a variety of beginner-friendly classes. We will have supplies so that everyone can follow all health protocols: wash hands regularly, wear masks, and keep healthy distance. Next Date: Feb 20th!
