Spring Cultural Festival

For the over 10 years we have worked in local communities offering Afro-Brazilian after-school programming for the best kiddos in DFW! Each year we invite them to a family program at the conclusion of our sessions so that they can not only see how big the arts are, but also so they can share with their families all that they have learned.

Spring Cultural Festival Details and Registration

Our 2026 Spring Cultural Festival will take place at Victory Forest Community Center on Saturday, May 16th from 9am-12:30pm. This is a FREE event, made possible in part by a grant from Arts Fort Worth and the City of Fort Worth. Our 2026 Spring Festival will feature special classes in Maculelê, a traditional percussive dance representing our warrior spirits, taught by Contra Mestre Tinta Forte, visiting us from Chicago, Illinois. We will also offer Samba Reggae, an upbeat celebratory line dance made famous on the streets of Salvador, Bahia and taught by Rachel Hernandez, visiting us from Los Angeles, California. We will also welcome Professor Dentinho, directly from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, to lead a class and presentation of Capoeira Regional, the iconic diasporic martial art.

2026 Vivência de Capoeira Regional

For fans and aficionados of the arts, we will offer additional paid workshops with our visiting instructors, hosted in-house at Ondas Community (1800 McPherson Ave, 76110).
